🇦🇹 Alexander Prass is an eye-catching midfielder for Sturm Graz

Alexander Prass is an eye-catching midfielder for Sturm Graz.

Deployed in an all-action number eight role on the left of midfield in their favored 4-3-1-2 formation, Prass has proven valuable going both ways. He has produced good attacking output over the last two seasons including 19 goal involvements, while his defending quality has been solid too.

The 22-year-old midfielder uses his body incredibly well in ground duels to shield the ball from his opponents, enabling him to not only disrupt opposition moves to a great extent but also pose a serious dribbling threat. His movement in the final third is also outstanding, enabling him to consistently get into dangerous positions in and around the box and pose a goal-threat. Due to the all-action nature of his role and indeed his team’s style of play, though, he has not shown a great deal of ball retention.

Prass signed a contract extension at Sturm Graz quite recently having joined them from RB Salzburg in 2021. As long as his side do not throw away a huge advantage at the top of the table, he will have played an important role in ending Salzburg’s decade-long Bundesliga winning streak.
